Michael Kirk – is an alumnus of DSS (2019), and has performed in many DYT and Studio West Dance productions. Michael has been part of Bard in the Yard since its inception in 2018 and this year marks his 6th anniversary with the company. Michael brings an infectious can-do attitude and wonderful improvisation style to each one of our camps. As Jim Martens says, “You won’t want to miss his impersonations of sea life at the aquarium!“
Michael has appeared in many Delta Youth Theatre productions. His most recent performances are Kristoff in Frozen, Chief Tui in Moana, Mr. Wormwood/Escapologist/Rudolpho in Matilda. Other productions for DYT, DSS, and Studio West Dance have been: Beauty and the Beast, Jr. (“Gaston”), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Aladdin, Willy Wonka, Jr., Shrek, Jr., Urinetown, Annie, Jr., The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Mary Poppins, Jr.
Michael is a dance teacher at Studio West and a choreographer at DSS. He and Ann Matterson worked on last year’s Little Shop of Horrors musical and this year’s Footloose at their alma mater. Last year Michael also completed his studies as a student at Vancouver Film School.
Other credits include this year’s Easter production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Chilliwack and the May production of Ordinary Days with Delta Players Theatre at the North Delta Centre for the Arts.
